Elkton isn’t just a place to live. It is a place to grow, thrive, and find purpose.
Below are my Mayoral Priorities to help the town and its residents reach their potential.
Mayoral Priorities
Help create safer communities by working with local police and fire departments:
Offering either free or low cost self defense and fire safety classes a few times throughout the year.
Ensuring the police and fire departments have access to resources and equipment to help protect and serve the residents of Elkton.
Working with the Elkton Police Department so that those breaking the laws are being held accountable, but also given help and resources to leave crime behind.
One of my goals is to help the lower the crime rates in Elkton.
To help combat this:
Making sure that resources for those that are struggling can be easily found and accessible.
Instill confidence that our emergency services are properly equipped with the knowledge to help someone in a crisis.
Encourage and incentivize the creation of small businesses within Elkton:
Offering classes on bookkeeping and e-commerce training.
Along with assisting new business owners in finding not only city/county help but finding new tools that the state offers to new businesses.
Advocating for policies that support working and low income families:
Fighting for policies that don’t allow loopholes for corporations and the ultra wealthy.
Back tax relief for working class and low income individuals and families.
Creating summer internships for teens and young adults so they can get real world hands-on experience.
When teens have a place to go, they are less likely to find themselves in trouble.
For young adults, offering summer internships can help aid in their college courses and future careers.
My goal as mayor is to ease the burdens of our community as much as possible.
Fighting on your side for your needs when Cecil County is passing laws, reworking budgets before talking about taxes, and making sure that money is going where it should be going instead of being held in limbo.
Creating more community programs:
As Mayor my goal is to get our tax dollars back into the hands of the community.
Through community events and outreach programs.
Supporting the funding to help improve community and street level conditions by using those funds to invest in social infrastructure.
A community garden, open to all ages.
Will bring a feeling of accomplishment when food is hand grown.
And, knowledge on how food is grown.
Bringing more events and activities to the town of Elkton.
Many events that are offered through parks and recreation tend to be in Rising Sun.
While Rising Sun is not far away, when gas, groceries, utilities and housing/renting prices are sky rocketing, joining community events that are not within the town of Elkton is less likely to happen.
Bringing more community events and programs to Elkton can build a sense of community. Help those who feel lonely feel less so.
Partnering with the Elkton Library to offer information and assistance in signing up for government help and informational classes.
This can include classes for our senior residents, helping them to gain knowledge in the ever growing digital world, about AI and how to spot scams.
Ensure that Elkton’s infrastructure is at it’s best:
Currently, Elkton’s infrastructure rating is at a C. It’s not great, but it’s not the worst either.
After the water contamination incident in December of 2025, it is obvious to the residents of this town that things need to be better.
This includes letting residents know the day that an event happens through the city’s website and social media pages.
Sending out letters to all residents within 72 hours of an event. Not a month after the fact.
This includes not allowing data centers in or near Elkton.
At its current state, AI and the data centers use so much of our finite resources.
Until data centers are committed to paying fully for their own use of utilities and find another way to cool their machine, as mayor I will not allow them in Elkton.
Ensuring that sewer, water and sanitation systems are all up-to-date.
Making sure that inspections are routinely done to catch any issues that may be a future problem.
If need be, updating any of the systems to accommodate our growing town.
